Millicent Lyall Forbes's photograph album.

An album containing photographs of Forbes, Land, and Wilson family members including Millicent Lyall Forbes, George Alexander Forbes, Betty Forbes, Peg Forbes, Bill Land, Janet Land, Jennifer Land, Thomas Land, Ross Wilson, Pamela Wilson, and others. Several photographs feature Christmas celebrations, Betty and Peg Forbes in their nursing uniforms, Camp Forty at Lake Tyson in Ontario, Florence Lake in British Columbia, and Hillhead estate.

Forbes, Millicent Lyall

Minister of Foreign Affairs’ visit to Hungary and Poland.

Material created and accumulated by Andrew Telegdi during his tenure as a Member of Parliament when he accompanied Peter Mackay, then Minister of Foreign Affairs, to Budapest, Hungary to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the Hungary Revolution and to participate in bilateral meetings in Warsaw, Poland between October 20-24, 2006. Records include invitations, programs, and correspondence such as a letter of welcome from Robert Hage, Canada's Ambassador to Hungary. Also includes tickets to events such as the Canada Salutes Hungary Gala in Budapest, Hungary, and a memorial publication published by the Hungarian Culture Centre Mindszenty Hall in Windsor, Ontario. In addition, the file contains a briefing book for Hungary and Poland as well as a presentation folder containing a program of events for celebrations in Hungary and other textual material.

Includes two mounted photographs taken on the streets of Berlin (Kitchener), including a shot of the Berlin market, town hall, and post office, a photograph of Alex Welker in his LeRoy car, a group portrait of students at Lady Belle [school?], a photograph of the interior of one of Electrohome's plants, and other photographs. File also includes a Christmas card from Elizabeth Pollock to John Koegler, and a page removed from a printed souvenir album containing a picture of C.E. Hoffman's button and suspender factory on Queen Street in Kitchener.

Page is annotated: "Pollock Mfg. Co. - 1908-1909 / upper floor - now SW corner Queen & Charles". File probably belonged to John Koegler.

File consists of architectural drawings of the proposed municipal building for the city of Kitchener. Plans are unsigned but are probably by W.H.E. Schmalz. Sheet one shows the ground floor plan, elevation of comfort station, comfort station floor plan, mezzanine floor plan. Sheet two shows the basement floor plan and the comfort station basement floor plan.

  • Middle row from left to right is Charles Boehmer Dunke, William Daum Euler, William Robert Wilkinson, Alexander Hugh Millar, H. Martin, and John R. Schilling.
  • Front row from left to right is reeve David Gross Jr. (George “David" Gross), third deputy reeve Henry Anthony Dietrich, Mayor Charles Casper Hahn who served from 1909 to 1910, second deputy reeve John F. McKay, and first deputy reeve Nicholas Asmussen.

Among the subjects are three individuals who would later serve as mayor of Berlin or Kitchener following its 1916 name change: William Daum Euler (1914-1917), David Gross Jr. (1917-1919), and Nicholas Asmussen (1925 -1926). William Daum Euler was also elected to the House of Commons of Canada (1917) and Nicholas Asmussen to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario (1919-1926). Both represented Waterloo North, Ontario in their Federal political office.
