General note
Lillie is identified by the donor as "Lillian". However, Ezra Eby's Biographical History of Waterloo gives her name as "Lillie Caroline". She is the daughter of Caroline Barnes, the oldest child of Isaac Hoffman, and is most likely named after his youngest child, Lillie Josephine, born Sept. 2, 1875.
