General note
Photo caption from published version of photo: "RUSSIAN SUMMER - Prof. Andrew Donskov (left, standing), Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures, and 25 students will leave July 5 for a three week Russian Language Seminar and Tour of the Soviet Union. UW students will be taught by Soviet professors [Universities of Leningrad and Moscow] during the tour, which is part of the Russian Summer Workshop. Prof. Edmund Heier recently spent four months in USSR as first Canadian exchange scholar, after Trudeau and Kosygin signed Canada-USSR scholarly exchange agreement; while there he arranged several tours for the group. Prof. Tamara Sommer (second row, second from right) will stay on campus with 12 students for the regular "total immersion" program in Russian."
