In his presentation, Morin addressed major issues concerning industry research and healthcare reforms. In addition, the file contains correspondence and notes related to the Teleconference on Health Care Innovation held on September 1, 2004. The conference was held to discuss three proposed initiatives raised by Morin to the national caucus including the Canadian Health Industry Partnership (CHIP), measures to improve the performance of the Canadian pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, and the Canadian Institutes for Health Research clinical research proposal.
The file also includes a proposal and a two-page excerpt from an address by Prime Minister Paul Martin in response to the Speech from the throne delivered on October 6, 2004 regarding the development of the Canadian Academies of Science.
