General note
47-687_001 and photo missing from envelope appeared on Page 3 of the Saturday, August 9, 1947 edition of the newspaper as part of the article: "New Pool Adds to Joy Of East Ward Tots."
General note
Photo caption that accompanied both photos: "NEW WADING POOL - The sixth wading pool on Kitchener school property constructed by the Kitchener Young Men's Club was opened yesterday at Sheppard School. Top photo [47-687_001] shows the children as they dashed into the water after Ald. Ainlay cut the ribbon. Below [missing from envelope] is a scene a few seconds later as the young girls and boys scrambled around the pool in search of candy tossed into the water by playground school and Young Men's Club officials."
