On December 14, 1982, Dr. Reinhold Schuster, representing the faculty association, presented a cheque to Dr. Doug Wright for the Wat-fund campaign. This presentation marked the first-time faculty, staff, student, and alumni associations worked together to raise money for the Wat-fund campaign. In total, about $1000.00 was raised. In addition, the groups also worked together to organize the Homecoming Oktoberfest dance. Other people present at the presentation included Marilyn Clarke, representing the staff association, Joy Roberts, representing the alumni association, and Wim Simonis, representing the Federation of Students. – Information about the event appeared on Page 8 of the Wednesday, January 5, 1983 (v. 23, n.16) edition of the Gazette.
