Photo caption from published version of 69-12-56_001: "OPENING CEREMONIES. Official opening of the new Athletic and Physical Education Building was held Feb. 8, coinciding with an Open House which saw more than 6,000 students and towns-people visit the facility. Participants in the opening ceremonies included J.D. McCullough, Department of University Affairs; Dr. Ira G. Needles, Chancellor, Prof. Dan Pugilese, Director, School of Physical Education and Recreation; Carl Totzke, Director of Athletics; Prof. Norm Ashton, Director of Kinesiology, Prof. Roger Dion, Director of Recreation, and Paul Drohan, Master of Ceremonies. Many athletic competitions were held including O-QAA fencing and badminton championships. Highlights included a basketball game in which the Warriors avenged an earlier loss to McMaster."
