Photo caption from published version of missing photo [no suitable substitute]: "BIG DITCH - An auxiliary city water main running from the Shoemaker Ave. pumping station to downtown Kitchener had to pass under CNR tracks behind Victoria Park. An 18-foot ditch had to be dug, water main laid, and the ditch refilled in one day so train schedules would not be held up."
