Scope and content
Consists of typescript drafts of two letters heavily annotated and revised by Sanborn. A loose note also appears in the file. The first letter is addressed to Mrs. Bancker regarding her daughter Carol's appearance as a child model in photo shoot by Helen Lee that appeared on page 167 of the October 26, 1953 edition of LIFE magazine. Some of the drafts make reference to Gulliver's Travels. The second letter is addressed to [W. H.] Auden regarding children in the writing of Lewis Carroll following a review written by Auden titled The Man Who wrote Alice that appeared in [the February 28, 1954 edition] of the New York Times. Revision annotations appear throughout.
