47-437_002 appeared on Page 8 of the Monday, September 8, 1947 edition of the newspaper as part of the article: “Panthers Lose 16-inning Game to London”.

      General note

Photo caption from published version of 47-437_002: "A wild throw by John Gillies, starting pitcher for London, enabled Harry Psutka to save in the sixth inning. Psutka had tripled and broke for home when Bobbie Fisher tapped one down the third-base line. Gillies picked the ball up and threw low and past Hodgson, the catcher. The ball can be seen behind Hodgson rolling to the backstop. Umpire McDonald is on top of the action."
