    Biographical history

    Dr. S. Dana Hubbard was born in Montgomery Alabama to Samuel and Mary C. Hubbard. He attended the University of Alabama, where he graduated in 1887. After this, he attended medical school at Bellevue Hospital Medical College, graduating in 1891. He worked as a dermatologist at both Bellevue Hospital and Riverside Hospital before going into private practice. Between 1891-1898 he was a surgeon in the New York National Guard and the United States infantry volunteers in the Spanish-American War. Dr. Hubbard served as a medical inspector for the New york Health Department, and was a member of the New York Board of Health for over forty years. He was also an instructor and diagnostician for the New York hospital department. In 1922 Dr. Hubbard published a series of booklets on sexual hygiene. He was particularly interested in quackery and investigating violations of medical practice acts. Dr. Hubbard died in New York in 1937.

    "Sex facts for young men" by S. Dana Hubbard. This publication covers venereal diseases, how to attain "vigorous manhood" through healthy habits, how reproduction and reproductive organs work, and medical concerns such as undescended testicles.

    Topics covered include health tips, the importance of chastity, diagrams of the male genito-urinary system with notes on where STIs cause symptoms, reproductive practices of plant and animal life, sex hygiene including masturbation, an emphasis on the normalcy of nocturnal sexual emissions, and a glossary of slang terms.
