Radio Caledonia was a German black propaganda radio station targeting audiences in Scotland. The station was operated by Büro Concordia, the code-name of a secret organization which operated a series of 'black' propaganda stations aimed at Britain. Büro Concordia was controlled by the German Foreign Office and the propaganda ministry.
Many of the broadcasts on the station were written by Scottish fascist Donald Grant, known on-air as ‘Jock Palmer.’ The programmes were intended to give the impression that the radio station was being operated by Scottish people in Scotland. The programmes attacked the British establishment and fomented Scottish nationalist sentiment in order to try and bring about an understanding between the British people and the German government.
