General note
The Public Relations department, once formed, was in the Division of Industrial and Public Relations (managers of the division included W.G. Scott, Norman J. Long, C. Allgeir, Maurice Monteith). In 1962, J.R. Boehmer was Public Relations Manager. On July 8, 1963, Robert Lovell became Public Relations Manager and remained in the position for 25 years (until 1988). At this time the company underwent organizational change and the public relations activities may have been distributed among the business sectors rather than a centralized function. The history and evolution of the public relations function over the life of the company is unclear from the series/fonds, and it is also unclear when Lovell retired.
