Administrative history

The Faculty Association of the University of Waterloo (FAUW) was founded in 1957 to "represent the interests of faculty members in a wide range of areas that affect them at the University." Work of FAUW has included negotiating a Memorandum of Agreement with the University, advising faculty members, and co-sponsoring the annual Hagey Lectures.

Other topics include the representation of librarians at the FAUW board meetings, a document titled "Librarians and FAUW: a Brief History of Events concerning Representation" prepared by Anne Fullerton; a letter to Waterloo president David Johnston from CAUT president Victor M. Catano outlining concerns regarding the replacement of retiring University Librarian [Murray Shepherd] with a staff appointment; and a printed web list of LAUW members from 2001.
