Images appeared on page 1 of the Saturday, August 18, 1951 edition of the paper as part of the article "Jolly Oldsters Sing Worries Away".
51-2697_001 captioned GOVERNING BODY - Just this week a permanent executive has been names for the club. Left to right are Mrs. Margaret Schloss, receptionist; Mrs. Martha Pauley, secretary; Alvin Foell, president, and Mrs. Jesse Hihn, hostess and telephone convener.

51-2697_003 captioned SWEET MUSIC - Don McLaren, Waterloo recreational director and head man around the recently formed Jolly Oldsters Club, leads the gang in a good old-fashioned sing-song. The oldsters like peppy music but they do a particularly good job on some of the old ballads. Don's banjo and Alvin Foell's violin are the two music makers.
51-2697_004 captioned TOOT-TOOT - John Graff, at 88, happily admits he is the oldest member of the club. John's stories of the old "rainroadin'" days which he graphically portrays with gestures, is one of the features of the story period in which the oldsters recall "old-times". He is shown above in a typical pose while recounting a story - with appropriate gestures.
Photo missing from envelope captioned REGULAR AFFAIR - Being over 58, one of the club's regulations for admittance, doesn't trouble any of hte members. As a matter of fact, each semi-monthly meeting brings to light two or three birthday celebrations. Left to right, Mrs. Agnes Gerber, Mrs. Clara Graf and Mrs. Jesse Hihn blow out the candles of a cake baked in their honor.
