One photograph album of Canadian and British Baptist missionaries in the Nilgiris District of India.

Materials created or accumulated by James Walker during his professional and personal life. Includes materials created during Walker's student life both as part of his Master's degree at the University of Waterloo and his Ph.D. research and dissertation at Dalhousie University; materials created as part of his teaching position at the University of Waterloo; scripts and papers written to participate in talks and events he was invited to or helped organize; records accumulated as part of his role as Chair of the History Department of the University of Waterloo and other materials related to the University's administration; and correspondence sent and received by Walker to different people and institutions.

Fonds consists of one diary maintained by Emma Clough of Hudson, New York from the period January 10-March 19, 1884. Emma travels to Washington after visiting friends in New York city and her diary details her tourist activities in both cities. In Washington she meets President Arthur as well as Blanche K. Bruce the first Black Senator, Frederick Douglass, Belva Lockwood, Helen Gougar, Susan B. Anthony and others. Along with shopping, visiting acquaintances and attending social functions, in early March of 1884 Emma begins to attend suffrage meetings which are detailed in the diary.

Records related to E Palmer Patterson’s research and writings, both published and unpublished, primarily about Indigenous peoples in Canada. Includes manuscripts, typescripts, offprints, notes, press clippings, correspondence, publishing contracts and other material.

This fonds consists of three groups of photocopies accumulated by David R. McKnight for research.

The first is a photocopy of Newmarket Cemetary Burial Records, 1869-1901, used for McKnight's publication Newmarket Cemetary Burial Records (1869-1901): a transcription from the Land Registry Office Records, York County Copybooks / transcription & production David R. McKnight, proofreading and editing, Rosemary Willard Ambrose. - [S.l.]: The Author, [1994].

The second is photocopies from an unknown source of documents relating to the Waterloo area. These include photocopies of official typescript transcriptions of land grants relating to land along the Grand River dated 1798, of a grant made to King's College in 1828, of maps from unidentified published works but originally from the National Archives of Canada, and photocopies of a number of 19th-century ms. agreements and indentures. Some of the items were originally stamped "Property of Registry Office, County of Waterloo".

The third group of photocopies is a copy of a volume from the Archives of Ontario entitled "Crown lands" dated 1857, containing descriptions of same in Waterloo, Wellesley, Wilmot, Woolwich and North Dumfries townships.

Fonds consists of correspondence, documents, journals, and a photograph relating to Colin Rankin's activity as a Fur Trader for the Hudson's Bay Company. Included are three journals kept by Donald McKay, Fur Trader, between 1799 and 1806, which were acquired by Rankin probably during his stay in the Temiskaming district.

Fonds consists primarily of correspondence, 116 letters, from Beulah Alloway to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Misener of Brantford, Ont. The letters describe her journey to Africa and her daily life and work as a missionary in Kenya. Also included are newsletters sent out by the Alloways, correspondence relating to Beulah's death, and 4 photographs.

Three letters written by Marion Webster during her time as a missionary in Angola for the Evangelical Congregational Church in Angola. Her letters detail the history and geography of Angola, as well as activities undertaken by her. Also includes 5 envelopes from Marion Webster that do not correspondence with the letters.

Material created or accumulated by the Honourable Andrew Telegdi related to his life and career. Records in this fonds document Telegdi’s early career as a bistro owner and rock music promoter in British Columbia as well as his experiences as a student at the University of Waterloo. In addition, the material records his work as an Executive Director for Youth in Conflict with the Law. Most notably, the fonds documents Telegdi’s extensive political career as a City and Regional Councillor as well as a Member of Parliament. Additional records capture Telegdi’s post-political career and personal activities.
