Scope and content
Draft typescripts (originals and photocopies) with holograph corrections of different chapters and text written and intended for publication as part of Concise History of Architecture in Canada. Multiple copies of the same chapters by appear through out the file, some with manuscript revisions and some with the same tiles but differing chapter numbers. They include "Domestic Architecture in Canada 1867-1930" (identified as Chapter 14 and Chapter 16 depending on the copy), "Public Architecture in the New Century 1900-1930" (Chapter 16 or 17) and "Temples of Commerce: From the First Canadian Bank to the Second World War" (Chapter 15). One draft typescript was originally stored in a ring binder and is marked as comprising chapters written by Dendy and other authors.
Also included are chapters about Quebec - "Domestic Architecture in Quebec Before Confederation" by Christine Cameron and "Church Architecture in Quebec Before Confederation_ by Jean Trudel, translated by Peter Smith - two clippings regarding Ottawa's new National Gallery (1988), and loose copies by Dendy's chapters along with other pages that are not immediately identifiable.
