General note
Photo caption from published version of missing photo [see 51-2369_003 for closest version]: "WHOOM! - Workmen engaged in widening of Charles St. encountered a stubborn willow tree stump at the Gies foundry which defied the combined efforts of a bulldozer and grader to move it. Yesterday with the aid of three separate charges of dynamite the stump was blasted out. An 800-pound rope mat placed over the stump to smother flying debris is shown as it was thrown off during one of the explosions."
