General note
55-6979_001, 55-6979_002 and photo missing from envelope appeared on Page 25 of the Thursday, November 24, 1955 edition of the newspaper as part of the article: "Scout Brother Combinations Are Confusing to Leaders".
General note
Photo caption from published version of 55-6979_002 and photo missing from envelope [see 55-6979_005 for closest version]:"FAMILY AFFAIR - Scouting in Kitchener seems to be a family affair as brothers are found in almost every troop. In the 11th Kitchener Scout troop, there are two four-brother combinations. The Gatke brothers (left to right, left photo) [55-6979_005 for closest version] Kenneth, Robert, Peter and David study first aid while the Boxwell brothers (left to right) [55-6979_002] George, David, Gregory and Richard dress up for a pageant. In addition, the same group has two sets of Scouts who bear the same names."
General note
55-6979_002 depicts a Scout in redface, wearing a feather headdress and having their face painted by other Scouts.
Redface is a racist practice which reinforces harmful stereotypes.
