File consists of material from the fourth section of the binder Design lecture series, 1974 (1), relating to the planning of the 1974 lecture series, particularly the events in Montreal. This section is divided by the following tabs: Montreal, Speakers, Ducharme, Hacker, Nelson. Includes correspondence, memoranda, ms. notes, a schedule of events, biographies of speakers, a lecture series program, two copies of keynote speaker George Nelson's introductory talk entitled "Design: the universal necessity" (30 leaves), and several copies of a photograph of Nelson.
File also includes a reprint of an article by Nelson in the October 2, 1971 issue of Saturday Review of Literature entitled "Design, technology, and the pursuit of ugliness".
George Nelson was president of George Nelson and Company, Designers and Planners (New York, NY) and a partner in the architectural firm of Nelson and Chadwick.
