In the letter, Ann asks John to identify the men and woman in the other three portraits. The woman is possibly John's maternal grandmother, Margaret (Gartshore) Wilson. One man is probably John's paternal grandfather, Rev. William M. Martin, and the other is probably John's uncle Alexander Douglas Wilson.
