Several letters are addressed individually to "mother", some include drawings and notes from Martha's children, and some are undated. Letters make reference to day to day happenings such as Margaret getting tonsillitis, Paul Rieder's birth, Talmon's busy work schedule, and the death of Henry William Anthes.
