An article written by Harold Russell titled, “Dorothy Russell: A life in the Twentieth Century: A Return to Teaching.” The article provides biographical information about Dorothy Etta Russell (nee White), specifically describing her career as a teacher and her experiences during the second World War. The article also provides some biographical information about Franklin Abram Schantz, Sophie Emma Schantz, Florence Annie Catherine Schantz, Austin Tobias Schantz, Arthur Benjamin Schantz, Donald Richard Russell and Harold Clarke Franklin Russell.

Two prints given as gifts to Florence Annie Catherine Schantz by her siblings Austin Tobias Schantz and Etta Lydia Mary White (nee Schantz). The first is a poem on Robins that is in a small booklet made to look like a tree house. The second is an advertising card from the Farm and Fireside and Ladies Home Companion magazine.

One envelope with the name "Austin" containing one folded dinner menu. The menu is hand lettered and the recto reads " Austin T. Schantz April 21, 1894." The interior lists a series of riddles, the answers to which are not given, but which assumedly are the plates for dinner. The menu is lettered in Orpheus Schantz's hand.

Five hand lettered visiting cards of Jennie Moyer, Edmund Warren Moyer, Austin Schantz, and Orpheus Moyer Schantz and F.J. Ottmax. The cards of Edmund and Jennie list them as living at 3823 Langley Ave., Chicago. The card of Orpheus and F.J. Ottmax is inscribed "A Happy New Year 1889."

An article written by Harold Russell titled, “Schantz Family Homesteading in Alberta: Homesteading In The West: The Schantz Family Experience.” The article describes the experiences of various Schantz family members that homesteaded in Alberta, Canada including Tobias Schantz, Austin Tobias Schantz, Arthur Benjamin Schantz, Florence Annie Catherine Schantz, and Ward White.

Small volume bound tete-beche meant to record bills payable and bills receivable. Included here is a record of the indebtedness of his brothers Arthur Benjamin Schantz and Austin Tobias Schantz in connection with their ranching and farming venture in Didsbury, Alberta, as well as a record and valuation of horses owned. Expected income from investments and securities is listed. One of two loose papers included is an invoice for a pistol purchased parcel post by Constable Clarke Russell, 1931.

An invitation card possibly written by or sent to Austin Tobias Schantz. The quote inscribed on the verso of the invitation card is from Alfred Tennyson's poem titled, The Sea Fairies that was first published in 1830.

Transcriptions of letters received by various Schantz family members from other members of the family living in western Canada, mostly Alberta, Manitoba and Vancouver, between 1896 and 1959 including Austin Tobias Schantz and Arthur Benjamin Schantz. The letters were transcribed by Harold Russell.
