The verso is inscribed "Aunt Etta, Merry Christmas from Ruth." 1900 shows a photograph of Ruth Schantz and is inscribed "A Happy Year! 1900." The verso reads "Grandpa, from Ruth, Christmas 1899." 1910 shows a painting of a woman holding an umbrella and the verso is inscribed "Grandpa Schantz from Worth." 1912 shows a photograph of a young boy taking a photograph of a young girl and is captioned "The young photographer."
