Typescript letter from Ruth Harvey to Elizabeth Long, addressed as "Bess", that provides information about the Women's Parliament and [Nellie L.] McClung's recounting of the groups activities in The Stream Runs Fast. Harvey also updates Long about a trip to Toronto, where they were impressed with the subway, her plans for the winter, and her impression of Margaret Laurence's The Stone Angel as "a wonderfully vigorous piece of writing."

The verso of the letter includes a manuscript note from Long about Harvey and her involvement with women's suffrage activities.

Clippings from various publications, ephemera, and typescript notes about Nellie McClung's life and career. File also includes a copy photograph of a press photo of McClung taken when she was appointed as the first woman on the first Board of Governors of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in 1936, and a copy of Souvenir Photo Summary of the Coloured Dramatique Presentation "Recalled To Life" (1965) about McClung and correspondence about its donation to the National Council of Women Lady Aberdeen library.

Documents, mostly printed items, found loose among the other papers, containing information on the following: Kathleen Blake "Kit" Coleman, Emily Murphy, Nellie McClung, Kate Aitken, and a story on the 1947 By-Line Ball written by Ruth Hammond and Cay Moore Miller. Included is a May 1978 edition of Content: Canada's National News Media Magazine (Number 85) with a feature about Kit Watkins and an article regarding women journalists in the west, such as Isobel Armstrong, E. Cora Hind, and the Beynon sisters - Lillian and Frances Marion. Also in the file is information about Judith Robinson: a note by Kay Rex and a copy of News, the paper Robinson started during the war.
