Ella Elmina Cook was born January 6, 1882 in Berlin, Ontario to John S. and Lydia Catherine Anthes. She attended the Ontario Ladies’ College in Whitby at the same time as her sister Martha and married H. Milton Cook in 1911. An active member in the community, she was a member of Zion Evangelical Church and served as president of the church's women's association, as well as of the YWCA, the Ladies Auxiliary of Freeport Sanitorium and the Victoria Order of Nurses. Cook died April 28, 1961 following a short illness and was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery.
