Scrapbook album.

Scrapbook album with correspondence received by Hon. Dr. James Horace King, the Oath of the Members of the Privy Council, telegrams and invitations and programs to events received by King, newspaper clippings, and photographs. Some of the correspondence was sent by Lucien Turcotte Picaud (MP 1911-1922, and Secretary to Canadian High Commissioner at London from 1922-1931). One letter is in Dutch.

Depot in Toronto; newspaper clippings about the R.C.A.F., the R.C.A.F. Women's Division, and Wilson's colleges; and related ephemera, including dinner menus and health clearence cards.

First part of the album recounts the life of Margaret Schmidt, including part of her family's history and, more thoroughly, from her early childhood to her old age, with an emphasis on her married life. Second part of the album recounts the life of Cully Schmidt, including part of his family's history more thoroughly, from her early childhood to her old age, with an emphasis on his work life.
Album includes photographs with captions, newspaper clippings, certificates, and ephemera created or accumulated by the Schmidt family. Photographs show Margaret exercising as a teenager, socializing with friends and family, spending time with her children, attending various personal and professional events, and travelling with her husband around the world. Photographs also show Cully exercising and working as a teenager, socializing with friends and family, working and travelling for work, spending time with his family, attending various personal and professional events, and travelling with his wife around the world.

Scrapbook of British royal family.

A scrapbook containing press clippings and a photograph of the British royal family. The press clippings feature articles regarding King George V’s Silver Jubilee, the death of King George V, the activities of King Edward VIII, as well as the children Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret. One photograph features King George VI and Queen Elizabeth possibly taken during the 1939 royal tour of Canada. Also includes a map of lakes in Ontario and a photograph of Lady Agnew of Lochnaw an oil on canvas portrait of Gertrude Agnew, the wife of Sir Andrew Agnew, 9th Baronet completed by John Singer Sargent in 1892.

Sims, Harvey J. : lawn bowling ephemera.

Scrapbook covering activities of the Canadian Lawn Bowling Association in general and H.J. Sims in particular from 1924 to 1941. Harvey J. Sims was on the Dominion Lawn Bowling Association Canadian team chosen to compete in Great Britain in 1924, and afterward continued to actively participate in the sport, winning many trophies. The scrapbook includes clippings, many with team photographs and portraits, drawings, schedules, itineraries relating to Harvey's involvement in lawn bowling events locally, in Ontario, the United States, and Great Britain.

The Lang Tanning Company, Ltd. photograph album.

Series consists of a collection of photographs originally contained in a photograph album created to showcase the activities of The Lang Tanning Company Limited. It tells the story of a three generation manufacturing company and depicts several steps in the leather tanning process. Each photo includes a typed caption indicating what is captured in the corresponding image. Employees, predominantly white men, appear throughout though a small number or photos include white women at work on various stages of leather processing. No employee identifications are included.

Scrapbook of news clippings, ephemera and photographs collected by the Toronto branch of the Media Club of Canada regarding their activities and members from 1975-1979. Included are news clippings regarding the Club's name change and affiliation with the Press Club, a cancelled debate between Eleanor Pelrine and Marshall McLuhan about abortion, the donation of the Club's archives to the Public Archives of Canada (now Library and Archives Canada), and the state of the Parti Quebecois. Also included is biographical information regarding Jean Hibbert, Lotta Dempsey, Helen Hogg, Beth Nealson, Estelle Craig, Helen Wood, Amalia Lindal, Susan Sommers, Edna Jacques, Mona Clarke and Jo Carson. Photos consist of headshot portraits of Helen Wood and Amalia Lindal, and photographs taken at an dinner part in honour of the publication of Edna Jacques' Up Hill All the Way.

One photograph album kept by an unknown woman with pictures of famous women. The album is made with wooden boards which feature paintings of a sunset over water and a song sparrow with calligraphic poetry. Each page includes a photograph of a different woman surrounded by a hand drawn frame that speaks to her life and work. Women in the album include Florence Nightingale, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Dame Millicent Garrett Fawcett, Elizabeth Garrett Anderson, Lady Florence Baker, Mary Somerville, Emily Davies, Johanna Maria Lind, and Rosa Bonheur.

WAVES scrapbook.

One scrapbook kept by Ruth Beardsley, a member of the United States Naval Reserve, known as WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service). The album includes 86 photographs showing Ruth and classmates at training at Hunter College in New York a well as Oklahoma A&M College; Ruth with family and friends; the USS Woodworth; and a trip to Washington. Also included in the scrapbook are three wartime ration books from members of the Peterson family, two postcards to Edwin Peterson, a Petty Officer training manual for John Peterson from 1950, a clipping regarding Ruth visiting the factory where her father worked, an invitation to a party on the USS Kearsarge (CV-33) issued only to women, an Easter card, a certificate for Beardsley from the Maryland College of Engineering in Engineering Drawing, and a transcript of a broadcast given on CBS by Eric Sevareid on the day of the truce in the Korean War. The scrapbook itself features a drawing of WAVES on the cover.

Photograph album containing photographs and other materials related to the Zagar family with an emphasis on their youngest daughter Margaret Ann.

Photographs and ephemera in album cover the lives of the Zagar family from the early 1930s to the early 1950s. First sheets include photographs of the grandmothers, parents (Stephan and Wilma), twin oldest daughters (Rosalyn and Marilyn Ann), and youngest daughter as a baby (Margaret Ann). Rest of sheets focus on Margaret Ann and her development from early childhood to adulthood after having contracted Polio as an infant. Photographs include family pictures and celebrations, class photographs at the Gompers School for the Handicapped (located at South State St. and 123rd, Chicago), photographs of Margaret Ann's development at different stages, and photographs of family friends. Album also contains religious ephemera, school ephemera related to Gompers School events, and a newspaper clipping related to a function at Gompers School.
